We are very excited to announce My Care Hub!

This is an online resource that provides access to invaluable capability and support for clients in vulnerable circumstances, whether they are carers, in need of care themselves, helping someone else who needs care, or planning for later life.

With the aging population, at Matrix Capital we have become aware of an increasing number of our clients seeking some form of paid-for care to support an older relative. This is often Mum or Dad, and while some might be looking for carers to come in and help at home, others are looking at assisted living, or a place in a residential or nursing home.

We know this is often a quite sudden and urgent need, and it’s a situation that can be stressful and confusing, whether or not you have contemplated this need in the past. So, we’re delighted to make you aware of a new service that we can provide access to, from My Care Consultant, an independent care navigation company with whom we have built a good working relationship.

This company has recently launched a new web-based service called My Care Hub, designed to support carers and those in need of care, and we want to make this service available to clients whom we feel could benefit from it.

By way of examples, My Care Hub contains valuable information in respect of:

  1. How hospital discharge works and what to do if something goes wrong

  2. Help with finding suitable care locally (including access to comprehensive lists of questions to ask before any contract is signed with a care provider)

  3. Access to a search engine from “Autumna”, an independent service that is the UK’s largest, most detailed directory of elderly care and retirement living

options. It’s completely free and will let you easily search for the care you are looking for.

  4. Help with understand the likely costs of care and who will have to pay (ie. the person in need of care, their local authority or the NHS)

  5. Your options if it turns out your loved one will be expected to pay some or all their care costs
